On 10th October, Mission of China to the African Union, together with China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and African Union Commission (AUC), co-hosted Dialogue on the Global Development Initiative(GDI) at the AU headquarters. Ambassador Hu Changchun, Vice Chairman of CIDCA Mr. Zhao Fengtao, Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of the AUC Prof. Mohammed Belhocine, Deputy Executive Secretary of UNECA Mrs. Hanan Morsy, and State Minister of the Ministry of Labor and Skills of Ethiopia Dr. Teshale Berecha attended the Dialogue and delivered speeches. More than 200 representatives from the United Nations, AU agencies, diplomatic missions and Chinese enterprises participated.

 Ambassador Hu Changchun made an introduction on the principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit, stressing that China is willing to join hands with all partners to promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of FOCAC in Africa, so as to jointly build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

Commissioner Belhocine and other African representatives said that the Beijing Summit was fruitful and they looked forward to deepening cooperation with China to realize common development.
