On November 5th, Ambassador Hu Changchun, Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union, met with Mr. Zou Ciyong, Deputy Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), to exchange views on deepening cooperation with Africa. Minister Counselor Lyu Ruihao was present.

Ambassador Hu introduced the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), especially the significance of the “Ten Partnership Initiatives” in assisting Africa's industrialization, agricultural modernization and talent cultivation. China appreciates UNIDO's emphasis on Africa's development, and is willing to join hands in promoting the China-Africa(Ethiopia)-UN(UNIDO) Center of Excellence to better benefit of the people and accelerate the process of  modernization in Africa. 

Zou Ciyong expressed that UNIDO hopes to strengthen cooperation with the China and jointly promote the implementation and effectiveness of the China-Africa(Ethiopia)-UN(UNIDO) Center of Excellence in Africa, so as to realize the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in the early future.
