On April 2nd, Ambassador Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, met with H.E. Mohamed El-Amine Souef, Chief of Staff of the AUC Chairperson, to exchange views on the situation of Gulf and Middle East Region and related issues. Amb. Jiang introduced Five-Point Initiative that China recently put forward, which are calling for immediate cessation of hostilities, start of peace talks as soon as possible, security of non-military targets, security of shipping lanes, and primacy of the United Nations Charter. Both sides expressed readiness to enhance communication and coordination in major international and regional issues.
