Amb. Jiang Feng Meets with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Seychelles to the African Union
On April 8, Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, met with Amb. Conrad Mederic, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Seychelles to the African Union.

Amb. Jiang noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Seychelles, and the two countries established a strategic partnership in 2024. President Xi Jinping has pointed out that China-Seychelles relationship is a model of sincere friendship, equality, mutual assistance and win-win cooperation between countries of different sizes. This year is designated as the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. China stands ready to work with Seychelles to consolidate traditional friendship, deepen cooperation in various fields, and deliver greater benefits to the peoples of China, Seychelles and Africa at large. Amb. Jiang also briefed on the Five-Point Initiative of China and Pakistan For Restoring Peace and Stability in the Gulf and Middle East Region.
Amb. Mederic spoke highly of Seychelles-China relations and Africa-China relations, and expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing support for Africa. He reaffirmed Seychelles’ firm commitment to the one-China principle and commended the Five-Point Initiative of China and Pakistan For Restoring Peace and Stability in the Gulf and Middle East Region and China’s sense of duty as a responsible major country. Seychelles is ready to maintain close communication and cooperation with the Chinese Mission to the AU and jointly safeguard the common interests of the Global South.
