The Mission of China to the African Union Participates in AU “Africa Day” Football Match
On May 23, the football team of the Mission of China to the African Union participated in a football match held at the African Union headquarters to celebrate “Africa Day”. Head of the Mission of China to AU Ambassador Jiang Feng, AU Commissioner for ARBE H.E. Moses Vilakati and President of the AU Staff Association Mr. Nouhou Thiam, among other guests, attended the event and watched the match.

The football match marked the opening event of the African Union Commission’s series of sports activities celebrating “Africa Day”. The Mission of China to the African Union was invited as the only non-African national representative team. On the field, the mission’s players demonstrated strong teamwork and fighting spirit. Upholding the principle of “friendship first, competition second”, the mission team showcased the energetic and enterprising spirit of Chinese diplomats as well as the close friendship between China and Africa, earning warm applause from the audience.

H.E. Moses Vilakati, AU Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment attended the match and joined the Chinese Mission team for a group photo in front of the Chinese national flag after the game, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
