On June 26, H.E.Amb.Jiang Feng, Head of Chinese Mission to the AU, held a meeting with H.E. Bankole Adeoye, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the AU Commission, in the presence of Defense Advisor Sr. Col. Guo Baojian.

Amb. Jiang noted that the China-AU strategic partnership has maintained strong momentum since the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Guided by the Global Security Initiative, China is willing to align actively with the AU's "Silencing the Guns" initiative and remains committed to supporting the AU's capacity-building in peace and security.

Commissioner Adeoye pointed out that China has always been the AU's most steadfast and reliable strategic partner. He highly appreciated China for its long-standing support for the AU's peace and security capacity-building and expressed hope that the two sides would further deepen their friendly cooperation to jointly safeguard peace and stability across the African continent.
