Ambassador Jiang Feng Meets with the Permanent Representative of Uganda to the African Union

On June 25, Ambassador Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, met with Rebecca Otengo Amuge, Permanent Representative of Uganda to the African Union.

Ambassador Jiang highlighted the participation of Mr. Liu Guozhong,  Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of China in the High-Level Meeting of African Heads of State and Government and Partners on the Ebola Disease Outbreak via video link. Amb. Jiang outlined China’s support for Africa’s Ebola response, noting that immediately after the outbreak, China provided emergency humanitarian assistance to the African Union Commission and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and carried out joint prevention and control efforts. He added that China supports Africa CDC in its response efforts, stressing that these actions demonstrate China’s commitment to the all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

Ambassador Amuge expressed appreciation to China for its assistance and support in the African fight against Ebola and underscored Uganda’s willingness to further strengthen China-Africa health cooperation, enhance Africa’s capacity to respond to the outbreak, and work toward an early victory over the Ebola epidemic.
