On September 8, Minister Zhang Wei, Deputy Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, and his team visited the newly established African Inclusive Markets Excellence Centre (AIMEC) in Tunisia and exchanged views with Amb. Youssif Ahmed Eltayeb, Executive Director of AIMEC.

Amb. Eltayeb expressed his gratitude to Minister Zhang and emphasized that China is the priority partner of AIMEC. He looked forward to establishing connections with relevant Chinese institutions to jointly advance the development of inclusive market in Africa and promote high-quality cooperation between China and Africa.

Minister Zhang congratulated the establishment of AIMEC, stressing that China highly values exchanges and cooperation with African Union agencies and institutions, and is willing to provide all possible support for AIMEC’s development. He comprehensively introduced the Global Governance Initiative and shared China’s experiences in poverty alleviation, safeguarding national security and social stability, and promoting the development of the private sector, which enhanced mutual understanding between the two sides.
