Minister Mr. Zhang Wei Attended Global South Media and Think Tank Forum China-Africa Partnership Conference
On November 13, the Global South Media and Think Tank Forum China-Africa Partnership Conference, co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the African Union, was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mr. Zhang Wei, Minister and Deputy Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, attended the event and delivered the opening remarks at the Plenary Session. More than 200 representatives from over 160 major media outlets, think tanks, government departments, and other institutions from China and 41 African countries, as well as the African Union, engaged in in-depth discussions under the theme “Reforming Global Governance: New Roles and Visions for China-Africa Cooperation”.

Minister Zhang emphasized that the visions and initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, including the Community with a Shared Future for Humanity, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, have received strong support from the African Union and African countries. These “Chinese solutions” are deeply rooted in the inclusive and peaceful nature of Chinese civilization.

For Africa, China has always been a reliable partner in safeguarding its legitimate interests, a steadfast supporter of peace and security capacity-building, a sincere companion in revitalization and development, and a close friend in civilizational exchanges and people-to-people connectivity.
