On March 31, Minister Zhang Wei led a team to hold a working exchange with the Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) Department of the African Union Commission. 

The two sides spoke highly of the sound momentum in the development of China-AU relations, noting that their political mutual trust has been continuously enhanced. Facing the intertwined and volatile international and regional situation, China and Africa should further strengthen coordination and cooperation in peace and security fields, promote the solidarity of the Global South, and jointly contribute to regional peace and stability.

The AU side emphasized that Africa is facing an increasingly severe threat of terrorism, and the two sides agreed to strengthen communication and coordination on this issue.
