Ambassador Kuang Weilin, Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union, met with H.E.Dr. Mustapha Kaloko, Commissioner for Social Affairs of the African Union, on 5th January, 2017, for exchange of views on the establishment of the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ACDC).
Dr. Kaloko appreciated China’s great support for the establishment of ACDC and promised that through China’s assistance, ACDC will play a crucial role in helping African countries monitor public health, respond to health emergencies, and build needed capacity.
Amb. Kuang on his part applauded the African Union in its leadership for this historical pan-African organization, and reaffirmed China’s commitment to the close cooperation in relevant fields with the African Union, with a view to helping Africa strengthen the system of public health and disease prevention, as well as cope with complex public health challenges.
